Ingredients
- 3 granny smith apples
- 1/3 cup plain flour
- 1/3 cups of oats
- 60g butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp of caster sugar
- 1 tbsp juice and rind of one lemon
Method
- Pre-heat oven 180
Apples
- Peel, core and slice apples
- Combine apples, lemon juice, tbsp of sugar and water in a saucepan
- Cook on medium heat until apples are just soft
Crumble
- Rub butter, flour and sugar together until it looks like breadcrumbs
- Mix in the lemon rind and oats till just combined
Cook
- Place stewed apples in the base of a loaf tin or small ceramic casserole dish
- Cover with the crumble mix
- Bake in oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden on top
- Serve with cream or ice cream
