Ingredients
- Tomatoes
- Salt (flaked is best)
- Basil (fresh)
Method
- Slice tomatoes into quarters.
- Add to a pot on medium heat with a light sprinkle of salt for ~10 minutes until soft.
- Spoon in softened tomatoes into a mill and grind the tomatoes.
- Add the milled tomatoes to another pot and boil for at least 30 minutes, until about half of the water has evaporated.
- Add a sprig of basil and store in sterilised jars.
Notes
- Different tomatoes have different water quantities. The amount of boiling in step 4 will likely change.
