Sausage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 carrot grated
  • 1 zucchini grated
  • 1 lot/tube of sausage meat (500g, pork is best)
  • 3 sheets of puff pastry
  • 2 tsp fennel seeds (or 3 if you're mad)
  • sesame or poppy seed
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • Salt and pepper
  • Half bunch of parsley finely chopped

Method


  1. Preheat oven to 200c
  2. Pull out puff pastry to defrost
  3. Mix together in a bowl: meat, carrot, zucchini, fennel seeds
  4. Add at least 3 cracks of salt and pepper, each
  5. Divide each sheet of puff pastry in half you should have 6 lengths
  6. Place a long line of meat mixture length ways on each piece of pastry
  7. Roll each piece and place, with the seam on the bottom, on a baking tray lined with paper
  8. Paint with egg and sprinkle with seeds
  9. Cook for 30-ish minutes until golden, rotate them if needed
